Two things when reading Freddie:

1) I become more convinced that the opening aphorism, “But if Truth be a Woman…” is the key to understanding Freddie.
2) Reading Freddie one is compelled to recognize that any attempt to truly grasp Freddie leaves one feeling quite inarticulate. In effect, one does not know if one’s grasp OR reach is the greater or the weaker.

But he is hilarious!
